1. Warnings in using The File Recovery Software
| |
If the data restore program is installed on a damaged hard drive, some data may not be able to be restored. In case where you need to fix electrical or mechanical problems, it may cause permanent damage to the hard drive. This is because most File Recovery software assume that the hard drive is in normal operation. |
|
| |
2. Do not use Disk Utility programs including Norton
| |
These kinds of programs are not recovery programs rather they are utilities to repair errors. A normal HDD could lose data using this kind of programs. Therefore caution must be taken to use them. |
|
| |
3. Refrain power supply
| |
If power is supplied when there is screeching sound, it may damage the key components making more difficult to restore data. |
|
| |
4. When a scratchy sound is heard from the Hard drive
| |
In this case, immediately turn the power off and should never try to turn the power on. It may cause a permanent data loss. At this point it is recommended to seek a recovery specialist. |
|
| |
5. When file and directory or format is lost
| |
When restoring, should not try to install new software or save file. It may drop the restoring rate. |
|
| |
6. When you set up a new partition
| |
If you re-format or run an application with purpose to restore data, may drop the restoring rate. |
|
| |
7. When the HDD is dropped to the floor
| |
In this case, should not turn on the power. If you did turned on the power and hear screechy noise, you should turn off immediately. When you drop the HDD, its head and disk may crash and rotating the motor will cause permanent damage. |
|
| |
8. When infected with a virus
| |
There are vaccines that make restoring impossible; therefore it should be used after checking the virus information. |
